A few more GoDaddy codes

Here are a few more promo codes that you can use for GoDaddy.com. They are who we use for most of our general domain name registrations. We still need to use an Australian registrar for any Australian domains:

Code “Todd” Save 10% on any order at GoDaddy.com!
Code “Pod58” Save 10% of any hosting Account
Code “GEEK” Take $5 off any order of $30 or more
Code “COMSALE” $6.95 .COM domain names
Code “Aloha” $20 off any order of $75 or more at GoDaddy.com!
Code “Central” Take $10 off any order of $50 or more
Code “Geek5” Save 15% on any order of $20 or more
Code GNCSSL Get a Godaddy SSL Certificate for $14.99

These are GoDaddy Promotion codes from Geek News Central.

Promocodes:
"GB1", "GB2" &/or "GB3"

Try all three for which ever gives you the best deal.

Domain registrar requirements

Hi,
I, too, had wondered about this... there is an international committee called ICANN, which sets the standards for domain registration & IP number assignments. Here at this link you can find what their requirements are for becoming an accredited domain registrar, which would have direct access to their database allowing for the creation of domains (specifically read under the heading "Becoming an ICANN-Accredited Registrar").

I don't believe it's impossible to do this, & I think it could most likely help YWAM as a global organization better manage it's internet identity, as well as it's public reputation by controlling the registration of false YWAM domains (a matter that was discussed at CRIT '06).

Also, I think if YWAM would become a domain registrar, then we could offer more reliable domain registry services for YWAM-specific needs. The only thing this would not allow YWAM to do would be to register country-level domains (like .ie for Ireland, .lv for Latvia, etc.). Each country already has a company or non-profit organization in place for such purposes. However, having our own domain registrar could possibly offer greater cooperation with such country-level domain registries.

I am, by no means, an expert in this area. It's just something that I've done a bit of thinking about & some cursory research about. Bottom line, something like this would require a very large amount of capital to make it work, but if there were some way of organizing all of YWAM's domain registrations, I think it could be possible to drastically reduce the amount spent on domain registrations across the ministry.

Domain Names

So I've been purchasing Domain Names for Impact World Tour now for a couple of years and we are looking at expanding our web presence and I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheaper way to buy domain names. I currently have 40 to 50 and we are proberly going to be buying another 20 to 30 over the next year. I currently use 1and1.com and I was thinking that there must be an easier way to do this. One thought I had was had anyone thought of setting up YWAM as a Domain Register? Has anyone any thoughts?
