Open Invitation for more YWAM IT Members

bill.hutchison's picture

As we look at developing the ywamit.com community we want to ask our regular readers (and the irregular ones as well) to invite others to join our community. The wider the representation of YWAM we can get, the more we can learn from each other, and the more we can look at serving each other.

So if you know anyone in YWAM who is working with IT, or interested in IT, then invite them to join our community.

We are also looking for people who are friends of YWAM or might be interested in using their IT skills for missions to join the community.

(While you are at it you can also upload a photo for your profile by clicking on the "my account" link on the right hand sidebar and then editing your profile. It could be fun to see what each other actually looks like...)

Responding to an invitation

Dear Bill,

Thanks for the invite although I only found out about this site via Google!!!! I guess I don't really have many friends!

I lead the YWAM Brussels base here in Belgium. I have been into IT for ages, I run a (nearly) all Linux shop here and have many happy and productive staff!

I have been seeking a community like this in YWAM. We need this sort of cross border collaboration. I have registered with the site but cant seem to do much? Is this right? Can I make posts? Am I missing something?

I can offer expertease on:
* Linux
* LTSP (been running for 18 months)
* Mediawiki
* Linux admin and various FLOSS software for Win32 also
* Blogs and a little Podcasting experience

One project I would like to invite all to is a YWAM Knowledge base that is currently in a prototyping stage and hanging off my old 350Mhz mail server here: http://mail.ywambrussels.be/sskcwiki/
This is very much a spare time project as base leading eats up my full time role. But it is still very important. It is designed as a management/leadership tool and is intended to try to stop the leak of knowledge from our mission! Have a look and invite all those interested in joining to join. Please let me know what you think.

Anyway let me know how to contribute here and I welcome to hear from you guys.
