I'm not becoming an evangelist for FreeBSD, but thought I would post some links in the interests of promoting thought and education in the YWAM IT network.
FreeBSD 7.0 is in beta at the moment. If you are a techie, you might find this Preview on FreeBSD 7.0 interesting. The multi-processor capabilities are very intriguing. I must confess, I don't even know where the current Linux kernel is on all of this. Good read and I learned some stuff!
Here are also a few links that have challenged me to think about BSD in light of my Linux history.
- FreeBSD for Linux Users - a very interesting article explaining some of the core differences.
- Complete FreeBSD - The online version of the book published by O'Reilly & Associates
- FreeBSD Ports - See if your favourite packages are available on FreeBSD.
