IBM Lotus Symphony 1.0 released

Mike's picture

IBM just released the final (no longer Beta) version of Symphony as a free download for Linux and Windows. It is available in 24 languages already!!!

In case you do not know this is a 'fork' of the Open Office packet by IBM. It may be a good business alternative to Open Office and MSOffice.

Lotus used to have the AmiPro wordprocessor, then it became Lotus Smartsuite. That has not been updated for about 5 years and now the Symphony package is IBM's answer to Office and also links in with its groupware. Interestingly... they are giving away the software for free!

Hi Mike,
just to let you know, the second link goes to the same web page (Wikipedia).

Other then that, I don't know Lotus Symphony, so I can't comment really on that topic.
