I have written a Blog on my website: Hello My Name Is Donovan and I Have An Email Problem. Maybe some of you will find it useful. In posting blog on ywamit.com, I was amazed though that there is no category for email or email management.

For the longest time I have been using "You Subscribe" in Outlook for my RSS feeds. Last week though I discovered that it was the main reason that my computer was running slow. I found that You Subscribe was jumping in CPU usage all the way up to 70% about every minute! Also by the end of the day the memory usage was over 100MB!
First thing that I tried to do was upgrade to the newest version of You Subscibe, which was called Attensa With Attensa it used a lot less resources on the computer, but it also didn't actually pull in any feeds. I took a look through the forums and tried to fix it, but I could not get them to work.
So, I uninstalled Attensa and replaced it with a program called intraVnews. It's free for personal, education and non-profit use. I'm going to miss some of the features in Attensa, like integration with Firefox and Internet
Explorer, but it didn't work, so all those features don't really matter. I will be probably be revisiting Attensa in the future so that I can use those features, but for now intraVnews seems to be working.
I'll let you know more later about how I go as I continue to work with intraVnews.
I just finished installing the new Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2003. I have not had a chance to look at what it includes too much, but I did read an article that explains some of the new security features in Outlook. They look pretty good.
Outlook's new phishing filters
For those of you who don't know, phishing (yes it is spelt with a ph) is when you get an e-mail from what appears to be a legitimate company asking you to click on a link to update your information. They will then take that information and try to steal anything that you have in that account. The new filter should help out a lot with helping people to determine if an e-mail is a legitimate one, or a phishing attempt.
