Hi guys.
One of the things that I have found hardest to get working over the years is printing to a printer attached to a Windows machine from my Linux machines.
Hi @ all!
Now that the iPhone blog is closed as it just started to be interesting ;-) I'm wondering if we can discuss (in a Godly way!!) the advantages of the different OS. Well, I guess we leave it for with the major platforms we use, Linux, OS X and Windows. I don't think that we have many people here who are playing around with other systems. What I would like to see is that you write about the advantages of the OS, so we are not looking at a particular program and I don't want to know why Windows or Mac sucks. Not even through the back door!
How good is the quality of new Macs really?
In our office we have mainly Macs, well, besides 3 or 4 computers all are using a Mac. So, I see quit a variaty of old and new machines. The old ones seem to be fine, quiet, still working like if they were new etc.
My base, YWAM Madison, just received a donation of about 20 dells. They are all P4s so this is going to be a significant upgrade for us.
I am exploring and look for a simple way of do some kind of ghosting or disk image install of windows and our standard setup (from one complete install). Any suggestions? A friend recommended Norton Ghost, but are there any open (i.e. free) apps out there?
Some years ago when the 64Bit architecture was just about to be released for servers I chatted with someone about that very topic. I asked when he thinks that the 64Bit will normal for the desktops. This guy said some like that it will never be necessary for desktops, the majority will stay with 32Bit, except some gamers maybe.
Well, we are moving more and more towards the 64Bit machines.
Microsoft has announced that it will not fix a vulnerability in Windows 98 Explorer. It claims that it would require a major rewrite of explorer, which would not assure that other applications will still be working.
I came into work on Friday morning to find out that our Microsoft Sharepoint based Intranet was not working. After restarting the server a few times and looking at the system log I found that it was not able to authenticate users, which got me looking at our Primary Active Directory Server.
