I'm not becoming an evangelist for FreeBSD, but thought I would post some links in the interests of promoting thought and education in the YWAM IT network.

I still remember the first copy of RedHat 4.0 and copy of the Linux Bible that I owned in 1995. Linux was still in its infancy and most of the mainstream press had not picked up on it.

Hi @ all!

Now that the iPhone blog is closed as it just started to be interesting ;-) I'm wondering if we can discuss (in a Godly way!!) the advantages of the different OS. Well, I guess we leave it for with the major platforms we use, Linux, OS X and Windows. I don't think that we have many people here who are playing around with other systems. What I would like to see is that you write about the advantages of the OS, so we are not looking at a particular program and I don't want to know why Windows or Mac sucks. Not even through the back door!

I've just read a request on the ywamconnect.net  IT Warriors Plug asking for a PHP/Mysaql Programmer, and that got me thinking. Now that we're gettintg the IT/Web people together, how can we bring our skills together in order to help bases and/or minitries in their specific needs? I know that we have been doing a lot recently, just the criation ywamit.com and ywamconnect.net have been really significant and we need to carry on.
