Over the years I have had a love/hate relationship with website development. It began way back, ether near the end of the last century or the beginning of this one. That was the good ol' days when HTML 4.0 was still new, and using nested tables was the cool way of aligning content.

A Social Network YWAM Base Site

Well, today we went live with a new web site / social network built on Ning, a hosted Social Networking solution.

Thank you to those of you who contributed to my previous discussion about YWAM and Social Networking. At that point we were exploring Ning and a Joomla plugin called Community Builder as options. My preference was Community Builder, or maybe Ning as a subdomain on our site, but they decided to go with a full Ning site.

RSS in YWAM

Aside from Bill H., I don't know anyone who regularly uses an RSS reader. I have off and on, but I think RSS is now starting to get really useful... for example, I now get announcements off of the YWAM Harpenden Intranet via RSS into my outlook. The nice thing about this is that it prompts me that something is going on, rather than having to visit the intranet multiple times a day for updates.

Update on the Online Application Form Development

Thank you for all your feedback on the on-line application form application. The application is coming along slowly, but we are getting there. We have been able to incorporate a lot of your feedback into the application including ways to hopefully address the varied application processes out there and the legal issues.
